week 6!
Mid term week. Well technically next week is midterm, but all the work for it has to be done this week.
That being said, there will be one or two less pictures this week, but still a decent showing. I say this as I did them all over the weekend. Anywho, I digress. The theme for this week is, "new". I'm trying to evolve my current "cartoony" style into something a bit more flexible. Variation is the spice of life, I suppose. There is one digital painting. To anyone who does that stuff on a regular basis, I applaud you. That is hard. But quite fun as well.

Prometheus Study
Bound, head down, and beaten. A rough sketch for a later portrayal of Prometheus from greek legend. Done without reference.
The King of Boxing.
Mind you...this has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
I just wanted to draw a king in a boxing pose.
The Green Knight! (week 5)
(Draft #1)
(Draft #2)
The man is valanced as a nature spirit or "green man" in different versions and typically has a sprig of holly on him..so I threw it on his helmet as some horns.
Sir Gawain! In casual clothes. (week 5)
Yep...there he is, peg legs and all. He'll be getting a slightly more heroic upgrade in design before the final. This is a good start though, strong silhouette.
Week 5!
Week 5, oh this has been a busy week. But, then again, aren't they all? But I digress. This week most of my pictures will be character designs or animal references. Why? Because animals are fun...and I need work on developing more iconic characters. That and a good dose of body frame drawings. Fundamentals are key. Good, old "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" is a project in the works, so expect some roughs from that.

Charles the Glutton (Week 4)
Old Style
New Style.
One of my favorite characters that I draw, Charles, who started way back in illustration one as a far happier looking guy. The bottom is a card I'm working on for a friend who has been teaching me a few things on the side.
Indian Clubs (week 4)
Another blind contour as Ms. Melissa so kindly asked for more. I've drawn him before, but the reference photo is so awesome I don't get bored redrawing him over and over again.
Cloud Crew! (Week 4)
Lots of different nimbus style clouds (cumulus, stratus, Mrs. Thunder...etc.) Mr Lightning, Drop Jr., and the tree known as "Soon to be Dead." I'd always wanted to write a children's book on weather. Albeit a slightly morbid one.
Week 4!
Hmm...nothing terribly special or unique about this week as there hasn't been an overlying theme like the last couple of 'em. Hope you all enjoy none the less. I'd love to hear some feed back even on some doodles.

Inner Beauty in the Outer. (week 3)
This is hands down my favorite thing I've done in about 4 months. Pure line poured onto the page as a contour drawing. Never picked up the pen, didn't use pencil to lay down a rough, just looked at a model and poured it out in about 4 minutes.
My Foot. (week 3.)
Was a passenger in a car ride the other day....and well there was no conversation. So I decided to draw my foot. Hooray for sandals.

Week 3
Week 3 is gonna be mostly shown through my handy dandy pocket notebook. My big pad that I normally use has decided to fall apart at the seams, so I got a small one that I can take on the go to make up for it.
